TuneCore Artists Shine at the 2013 Grammys

From winners to nominees to performers, TuneCore Artists were everywhere (or highly visible) at last night’s 2013 Grammy Awards.

In case you weren’t able to tune in, here’s how the TuneCore community made out…

Christian Hip-Hop artist Lecrae won “Best Gospel Album” for Gravity.

In the category “Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media,” Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross took home an award for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

TuneCore duo The Civil Wars and Taylor Swift won “Best Song Written for Visual Media” for Safe & Sound (From “The Hunger Games”).

Throughout the night we saw many familiar faces onstage and in the audience. TuneCore alumnus Ziggy Marley joined brother Damian Marley, Sting, Rihanna, and Bruno Mars onstage for a tribute to Bob Marley.

Ed Sheeran, who started his career with TuneCore distribution, took to the stage with Elton John.

If you were watching carefully you may have seen the camera flash to fellow TuneCore Artist Janelle Monáe in the audience.

The final performance of the night seemed like a TuneCore reunion, featuring Tom Morello, Travis Barker, and Chuck D, who joined LL Cool J & DJ Z-Trip.

Though they didn’t leave with a gold record in hand, these TuneCore Artists deserve one more big congratulations on being nominated:

-Dave Koz
-Follies (New Broadway Cast Recording)
-The Gershwins’ Porgy And Bess
-Hugo – Howard Shore, composer
-Israel & New Breed
- Hunter Hayes
- The Lumineers
- Kari Jobe
- Carla Morrison
-Sistema Bomb
-2 Chainz

We can’t wait for next year.
