TuneCore Artists To Be Honored at Hollywood Music In Media Awards

Independent artists toil everyday to perfect their craft, whether they’ve been performing for years and have serious music industry experience or they just released their first single on iTunes. Everyone knows it isn’t easy trying to crack into the business, book tours, lock down press features, and secure licenses for TV and film. Even as independent music in general is somewhat of a hot commodity in media, how often do we get the chance to truly celebrate those artists who are in the midst of their climb to success?

The Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) is Hollywood’s premier award show honoring musical excellence in visual media, the music of mainstream and emerging artists around the globe. In it’s 6th year, it’ll take place on November 11, 2015 at the legendary Fonda Theater and be hosted by Ron Pearson.

So, why are we so hyped about the Hollywood Music in Media Awards this year? Well, five artists will be honored with the first-ever Independent Excellence Award, and two of those happen to be TuneCore Artists Fantastic Negrito and Andy Allo!

Both highlighted in TuneCore and Swisher Sweets’ Convenience Store Sessions earlier this year, we’re absolutely thrilled and beyond proud to announce this news. Andy and Negrito may play different styles – pop and blues respectively – they are both tremendous examples of the types of talented, hardworking independent artists who use TuneCore for digital distribution and music publishing administration.

An additional congrats is in order for reggae/dub TuneCore Artists Stick Figure, who have been nominated for their song “Choice Is Yours (feat. Slightly Stoopid)”!

After Party

After the awards ceremony, Andy Allo and fellow TuneCore Artist Tiffany Alvord will be performing at the VIP after party event, hosted by Bompopradio’s Dylan Berry and America’s Next Top Model Lisa D’Amato!

The Hollywood Music In Media Awards have been recognized by The Hollywood Reporter as,”The annual celebration of music in film, TV, video games, commercials and trailers is one of the better predictors of the best original score and best original song Golden Globe and Oscar categories.” So please join us in congratulating Andy Allo, Fantastic Negrito and Stick Figure – and keep an eye out for pics from the night!
