        Dear TuneCore Team,

I already signed up for an account with you guys. And I placed two items in my shopping cart. One says “Single Distribution Credit.” And the other says “Ringtone Distribution Credit.” The thing is that I’m not really sure I understand the step by step process correctly.

So could you guys please explain to me which benefits and/or advantages come from each one of those services? I only have $30.00 in my U.S. bank account as I currently live outside of the U.S. I used to study in America but now I’m back in my home country. Therefore, I’m just trying to make sure that I spend those $30 wisely. I guess I just want to be able to cover all of the expenses required to promote my single using your services.

With that said, I really hope we can come to a final agreement and understanding of my situation. And I really appreciate all the support that your team could possibly offer me. Anyways, I’m really looking forward to hearing back from you guys soon!

Thank you for your time to read this.

        Sincerely,

        Carlos Vera

          Hi Carlos –

If you plan to release a single, you may purchase that single distribution credit to use towards the release of that single. It essentially allows you to pay for distribution before uploading a song, cover art, and submitting it for approval to be sent to stores like iTunes and Spotify.

(You can read more about credits here: http://help.tunecore.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/89/)

If you plan on distributing a ringtone, as well, then you can use that credit in a similar fashion. We wouldn’t recommend purchasing a credit for a ringtone if you don’t plan on distributing one.

If your single is ready to go – you’ve got the audio file, cover art, and proper clearances for any samples – you do not need to purchase a credit. You can simply go here http://www.tunecore.com/singles/new and get started with the distribution process.

If you’re having any trouble, we recommend getting in touch with Artist Support here: http://help.tunecore.com/app/ask.

Hope all of that helps, Carlos!

            Dear TuneCore Team,

I’ve got one last question, what am I supposed to enter under Label or UPC/EAN Code?

I’m just a guy from South America and I’m not affiliated with any record labels as of yet.

Thank you for your time to read this.

No worries Carlos – you can simply put your name under ‘Label’; as for a UPC/EAN Code, you may leave that field blank and TuneCore will create one for you. Read more here: http://help.tunecore.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18/

            Dear TuneCore Support Team,

There seemed to be problem with my single. Apparantly it was rejected because of my artist name choice. So please tell whoever is in charge of distributing singles at your company that I already changed my artist name to Kyle C. And ask them whether they think it’s necessary for me to change it again!

Thank you for your time to read this.
