It’s a new year, but we’re still bringing the live music action via our TuneCore Live series! This month we’ll be hosting TuneCore Artists Freedom Fry, Blackbear and Trevor Wesley at our West Coast home away from home, Bardot Hollywood.
With the help of our pals at Swisher Sweets, CeleBuzz and Mirrored Media, we’re psyched to kick off the upcoming year by offering a stage for these artists to share. You can RSVP for this free, 21+ event on Facebook here. So come out, hang with TuneCore Staff, ask us questions, and meet and mingle with your fellow TuneCore Artists!
In the meantime, check out the bands and have a listen after the jump:
Blackbear (aka Mat Musto) had solidified himself as a prominent indie songwriter, performer and producer. His 2015 Deadroses debuted on the Billboard’s Top 200 R&B/Hip Hop, Independent, and HeatSeakers charts. Between having recent credits on the critically acclaimed G-Eazy full length and a 36-date tour with Hoodie Allen in February, Blackbear is positioned to have a prosperous 2016!
Some artists aim to bring classic crooning soul over a more modern sound, and Trevor Wesley is one who does it with great success. A product of Los Angeles who was raised by a top Hollywood camera operator, Wesley traded in his dreams of being an actor and went on to write and produce with artists such as Ne-Yo, Wale, Dionne Warwick, 98 Degrees, and even perform backing vocals for Stevie Wonder. Check out his latest, “Chivalry Is Dead” below:
Named after the awkward early-2000s time in the France/U.S. foreign relationship, Freedom Fry is composed of married duo Marie Seyrat (Paris) and Bruce Driscoll (U.S.). Releasing thoughtful, pleasant, and at times, dancey indie-folk since 2011, they hit the ground running last year – making waves on The Hype Machine, picking up spins on taste making stations like KCRW and KEXP, as well as Sirius XM and BBC Radio.
