Do you have templates I can download?
Yes we do. Just go to the Art Specs and Templates Page and download the templates you need.
What does 4/1 mean? What does 4/4 mean?
Very simply, when we say 4/4 we mean that both the inside and outside panels of the print artwork are in full color. When we say 4/1 we mean that the outside pages are full color, but the inside pages are black and white only. These are industry terms: the number 4 indicates the 4 colors of the CMYK printing (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). With CMYK printing, you can make most any color you want. The 1 (in "4/1") indicates that only one color (Black) is being used.
How do I send you my artwork?
As soon as we receive payment we will email you the FTP info that you will need. You can then upload your art right to us.
What format do you need the art in?
For Jewelboxes and Wallets:
All art (CD label as well as all Print art) should be submitted to us as 300 dpi or better (600 dpi would be best) .PDF files. Please DO NOT submit .jpegs, .gifs, .tiffs, .psd, .ai files, etc. ONLY SEND .pdf FILES!
For Digipaks (high run only)
Submit art as NATIVE FILES ONLY. Acceptable formats include: Photoshop (.psd), QuarkXPress (.qxd), InDesign (.indd) and Illustrator (.ai)
How do I pay?
When you submit your order form to us we will write back to you with a formal quote for your project and ask if you are ready for us to send you an invoice. If you reply Yes, then we will send you an itemized invoice for you to keep for your records. You will also be emailed a PayPal Money Request. You can pay this invoice through PayPal. (You do NOT need to have a PayPal account in order to pay the Money Request)
About PayPal Money Request:
· You will receive an email from PayPal informing you of our request for payment.
· After clicking the link included in the email, you can log in to your PayPal account, sign up for a new account or pay without creating a new account.
If you are paying through an existing PayPal account or if you sign up for one now you can pay using money from your account balance, credit card, or bank account. You can also pay via eCheck but please keep in mind that eChecks take a few business days to clear and your order will NOT be put into production until the eCheck clears.
If you are new to PayPal you will NOT be required to create a PayPal account to complete this purchase—you will go through an alternate checkout, and will be able to pay by credit card (though not by eCheck).
IMPORTANT: We must have payment BEFORE we can begin processing your order and before we send you the FTP information. Any delays in payment will delay the start of your project.
How are my CDs shipped? How much does High Run shipping cost?
Our High Run CDs are usually sent to you via FedEx Ground. FedEx Ground can take anywhere from 2-5 business days to be delivered (most deliveries to New York or California take 4 business days). For High Run shipments that are being shipped to multiple addresses we offer Fedex Express Saver (ESS) which guarantees delivery within 3 business days. ESS is only available for shipments of 999 units or less. For High Run orders of 3000+ units, we use Trucking Freight (1-5 business days). If you would like anything shipped via 2-Day or Overnight services please let us know when you place your order and we will quote you the cost. Also, if you would like us to ship to multiple locations please let us know when placing your order.

When do I get my discs? What does 10, or 12-15 day really mean?
When we say 10 or 12-15 day service, we mean that it takes us 10 or 12-15 business days to make the CDs. Weekends and national holidays are not business days.
IMPORTANT: The 10 or 12-15 day period does not begin until all music and art elements are received, proofs are made and approved by you, and a completed RRF form and payment are received. Any issues that may arise along the way (art failing to match the spec, etc.) will delay the start of the project.
Your CDs will ship to you at or before the end of the 10 or 12-15 day time period* (10 days for Jewelboxes and Wallets, 12-15 days for Digipaks). Shipping will then take however many days shipping takes. Again, 10 day or 12-15 days etc., always means BUSINESS days. Please plan your project bearing all this in mind.
*Turn times are not guaranteed.
How can I make sure the CDs look the way I want them to?
We will email you a .PDF proof. We never put anything into production until you approve the proof. If for any reason you re-submit new art to us after digital proofs have been sent to you for approval, there can be a fee charged for re-submission.
I haven't used TuneCore before, can I use this service?
Absolutely. Happy to have you.
How do you produce the CDs?
Our CDs are produced from your master using a glass master for maximum quality sound reproduction and durability. The CD art uses a professional silk screening process.
I just want a few CDs to send out as demos. Do I need to order a thousand?
Not anymore! Check out our Low-run options. You can order as few CDs as you need and never have to pay for extras.
How do I get a Barcode?
If you do not have a barcode and would like one to use on your art work, choose "Yes" on the Order Form next to the question "would you like us to provide you with a free barcode?" and we'll email it to you within 48 hours.
Please note, to get a barcode you need an UPC number.
If you used TuneCore to deliver your album to an on-line store like iTunes, you can locate the UPC number next to your album on your MyDiscogrpahy page.
TuneCore can NOT provide you a UPC number if you have not used TuneCore to deliver an album to an on-line store like iTunes.
IMPORTANT: We do not put the barcode into your art for you. A barcode is a graphic image, it is up to you to place it in your art where you want and at the size you want.
Can I get a retail topspine?
Yes. The price for topspines (the sticker across the top edge of the case that’s hard to remove) is $.06 per unit for Jewelboxes and $.08 per unit for Digipaks. The topspine usually has the name of the artist, name of the album, the record label and the barcode. It is not essential to have a topspine, but some people prefer one for retail, so customers can see the name and title of the CD while thumbing through CDs in a store.
Do you make DVDs, too?
Yes, TuneCore also makes DVDs at very low prices. Do you want a DVD 5 or a DVD 9? Amray case? What kind of insert? Let us know with an email to manufacturing@tunecore.com
