Please use TuneCore's templates only. Follow all instructions and measurements carefully. Preparing artwork can be intimidating, especially if you've never done it before. Follow this checklist to help, and click here for detailed FAQs on common issues.

Common artwork problems to watch for that will delay production of your project:

· Make sure your artwork has a 1/8" bleed on the edges. To do this, check the art using the TuneCore template and make sure it extends at least 1/8" over the cut marks. Here's a diagram to help explain bleed:

· Make sure your final art is 300 dpi or better, 600 dpi preferred. Our printing is high-quality, and we need high-quality art to make your CD look great.
· Save your final art as flat PDF files with images and fonts embedded. (For High Run Digipaks please submit all art as NATIVE FILES - Do NOT submit native files for anything other than High Run Digipaks)
· Download and fill out the RRF form (note: you can leave the customer and selection fields blank). This form tells us that you own the rights to your music. Without this form, we can't start your project. Make sure that you include the completed RRF with the physical CD (master) that you will be sending to us.

Frequently asked questions

What does 4/1 mean? What does 4/4 mean?

Very simply, when we say 4/4 we mean that both the inside and outside panels of the print artwork are in full color. When we say 4/1 we mean that the outside pages are full color, but the inside pages are black and white only. These are industry terms: the number 4 indicates the 4 colors of the CMYK printing (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black). With CMYK printing, you can make most any color you want. The 1 (in "4/1") indicates that only one color (Black) is being used.

How do I send you my artwork?

As soon as we receive payment we will email you the FTP info that you will need. You can then upload your art right to us.

What format do you need the art in?

All art (CD label as well as all Print art) should be submitted to us as 300 dpi or better (600 dpi would be best) .PDF files. Please DO NOT submit .jpegs, .gifs, .tiffs, .psd, .ai files, etc. ONLY SEND .pdf FILES! (For High Run Digipaks please submit all art as NATIVE FILES- Do NOT submit native files for anything other than High Run Digipaks)

How do I get a Barcode?

If you do not have a barcode and would like one to use on your art work, choose "Yes" on the Order Form next to the question "would you like us to provide you with a free barcode?" and we'll email it to you within 48 hours.

Please note, to get a barcode you need an UPC number.

If you used TuneCore to deliver your album to an on-line store like iTunes, you can locate the UPC number next to your album on your MyDiscogrpahy page.

TuneCore can NOT provide you a UPC number if you have not used TuneCore to deliver an album to an on-line store like iTunes.

IMPORTANT: We do not put the barcode into your art for you. A barcode is a graphic image, it is up to you to place it in your art where you want and at the size you want.

What if I cancel my order after I've paid?

There is a $50 cancellation fee for all orders that are placed and have been paid for. If art proofs have been made the fee increases to $65 to cover the extra work that was done. If you have already approved your artwork it is too late at this point to receive a full refund for your order since the art pieces have started printing.
