Adriana Rios

Brazilian/Latin American singer/songwriter

Simply Bossa (MDR 2005), Adriana´s first solo project was recorded in Rio de Janeiro, and is a tribute to the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim. The project counted with the participation of important Brazilian and Argentinian artists deeply related to the music of Brazil such as Leandro Braga ( arrangements and piano) , Joao Lyra (guitar), Jorge Helder (contra base),Carlos Balla (drums), Zero (percussion) , Zé Nogueira (soprano sax), Alejandro Santos (arrangements and flutes) and Guillermo Reuter (arrangements, piano, and vocals) , as well as the stellar performance by one of Brazil's most influential and well-loved composers, Roberto Menescal, who added his electric guitar to two tracks

Cadapaju / Terra da Inocencia (Untref Sonoro 2012) is her second solo project. The disc includes 11 original compositions by Adriana, some in partnership with talents such as Roberto Menescal, Agustín Pereyra Lucena and Felipe Radicetti. The Brazilian roots of the CD are evident, as well as the palpable influence of American folk and the musical genres of Argentina and Uruguay. These diverse influences are present in a natural, non-premeditated fusion which comes from the songwriter´s own life experiences. Important musical figures from the Argentinian scene participate in the CD such as Daniel Maza, Ruben Izarrualde, Rodrigo Aberastegui and Agustin Pereyra Lucena as well as Dario Eskenazi (USA), Felipe Radicetti (Brasil), among others.
