BIOGRAPHY
Joaquim Cullin a.ka. Chill Daddy was born in Malmo, Sweden, where founded his small Indie label, Casa Loco Records. The Swedish born Joaquim had already considered making rap a career by the young age of sixteen, and had begun developing his craft at an even earlier age. Joaquim Cullin, turned U.S. Citizen, turned Chill Daddy, has always felt that he had something important to say to the world. Fortunately for the world, he was born with a talent for getting those things across through the art of rap..nah, that's just bullshit.
Cullin says that his biggest influence is simply, “What I see and go through every day” His lyrics are inspired by his lifestyle, his neighborhood, and his all-time favorite “hood”, New York City. Cullin also credits the art of Slipknot, Wu-Tang, Costra Nostra, Mobb Deep, Public Enemy, and others, for inspiring his sound and lyrics. And, to quote Chill Daddy, he looks up to all the “punchline mc’s” who sticks to the true cultural influences that have sustained and driven rap music throughout the years.
Cullin has some very loyal fans who insist that Chill Daddy keep on, “Doin’ what he’s doin’”, and it certainly appears that he plans to do just that. He is currently working on his debut album, “Psychological Imbalanced”, which is set to be released summer of 2008. Chill Daddy’s 2008 album will contain features from Ron Artest, Shabazz the Disciple, Nature and so on. The style, like all of Joaquin’s work, will be a mixture of Heavy Metal/Hardcore/Death Rap, much like the artists from whom he gains his inspiration.
