Liner Notes: The songs here represent the full recording catalog of the band Dogstar featuring Bret Domrose - Guitar & Vocals, Rob Mailhouse – Drums, and Keanu Reeves – Bass Guitar. These songs were written in many cities and countries around the world, but the band always seemed to come home to Los Angeles for the recording sessions. The exceptions being, Honesty Anyway, Behind Her, Return and 32 Stories, which were tracked at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, Washington and produced by Rick Parasher (Pearl Jam). Most of the Our Little Visionary album was written during the winter in -30 degree weather in a Chicago, Illinois warehouse. These conditions are directly reflected in the lyrics and the overall feel of the album. The record was produced by Ed Stasium (the Ramones) and recorded at A & M studios in Hollywood. Moving toward the recording of Happy Ending, the band was touring and doing most of the writing in Australia while Keanu filmed the movie The Matrix. Taking a break from the road for a couple of years, they met up in a Los Angeles studio to record four new songs that were also written in Australia and during a prolonged stay in San Francisco. These four songs represent the latest recordings and have never before been released. When asked about making this collection, the band members stated: “While going through the songs, we were pleased to find the music has remained emotionally connected to us and the stories that they tell seem relevant now more than ever. We are very excited to offer this collection digitally released for the first time and hope you enjoy it as much as we did while creating it.
