Dragonfly

Dragonfly

Dragonfly are an energetic rock Australian band that belt out melodic, raw intelligent tunes. Dragonfly was the brainchild of Marc de Hugar (ex Candy Harlots and Screaming Tribesmen) Marc held onto his influence of traditional Australian artists like Radio Birdmen, The Hitmen and many other bands that influenced his very young start to his career in music from the inner city venues of Sydney circa 1986 - 1996. Strongly entwined within Marc’s style of playing and songwriting is the unmissable 80’s glam rock influence largely impart of his early rise to fame as virtuoso guitarist in the band Candy Harlots, this created a somewhat unique sound for the band, as a hybrid of something Indie Australian and yet also polished American, coupled with young line up of fresh faces Danny Wayne on rhythm guitar, Dave (Chip) Schilder on Drums, Ryan Kemp on Bass, and Greg Skipper on vocals.

Dragonfly’s genesis was in 2004, there constant lineup changes to find the right chemistry and other internal conflicts until the band was dissolved in January 2007. in the short time they were around they gained a decent local following and released a 5 track EP titled "ZERO" that is still available at some independently owned stores throughout the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Dragonfly Supported Lump, Candy Pain, Hell City Glamors and The Follow and Headlined shows at Coolangatta Hotel, the Hard Rock Café, Miami Shark Bar, Pacific Pines Tavern, Billy’s Beach House, The Rev, The Guild Bar and the Alley Bar at capacity crowds throughout the Gold Coast and Brisbane regions. Dragonfly is still together though Marc is now forming another band and working on other projects.
