Hope's Anchor formed in April 2008 when Shawn Johnson, Raymond Hemms , Harry Wolle and Chris Plante decided to collaboratively work on a project focused on creating heavy, groove-oriented, Christian worship music designed to reach those far from God. The band itself comes from diverse musical backgrounds and experiences. Shawn Johnson toured the world for a number of years as a back-up singer and dancer for Little Richard in the late 1990’s. Shawn Johnson and Raymond Hemms met in 1998 and played together in an original rock band which toured the US for a number of years, culminating in a European Tour during 2001. Harry Wolle and Chris Plante met in 1991 and played in original rock bands for a number of years, throughout the Southeast United States. Chris went on to tour with original bands along the east coast for over 5 years; while Harry focused on session bass work and writing. Hope’s Anchor music revolves around merging heavy, groove-oriented rock; soulful melodic vocal phrasing and real life experience to create music that relates to those searching for “The Way, The Truth and The Life”.
