Kawaski "KCentric" Nelson

Kawaski J Nelson, also known by the stage name KCentric, is a songwriter and composer. He carves out a unique musical niche that fuses jazz, hip-hop, breakbeat, and electronic music.

He got his break when a producer heard one of his songs and asked if he could use it for his new show. He obliged the request and soon after his tunes were being featured in popular network shows and national advertising spots.

Kawaski has composed music for Sirius, Current, HBO, Discovery, TV Land, MTV, PBS, VH1, Travel Channel, and NBC Universal.

He has scored multiple TV and film projects including BET's hit reality docu-series Trey Songz: My Moment, and the popular HD sports show Around The League for the NFL Network.

He has worked with platinum producer Rick Rock, hip-hop music legend MC Lyte, and is featured on various world music projects including Turkish composer Murat Ses's albums, Umami and Beside The Sun.

Liner Notes: Almost Live At The Brassmataz is a cool collection of some of my favorite instrumental mellow tunes. All of the songs featured on this album were originally B-side tracks never intended for a full album release. Some of the songs have been featured on radio shows and podcasts while others have been used as background music in independent films, videos, websites, and various television shows. I decided to create this album due to a strong response from my friends and fan base to release these virtual tunes on a separate project. I hope you enjoy the music and come back for the cool.
