Liner Notes: HASAN “A MAN LIKE ME” Damon Hasan Johnson, former Sony/Epic recording artist started writing at the age of 15. In a short period of time he developed into an excellent songwriter under the guidance of his childhood friend Cory Rooney. Cory soon made Hasan a member of his C.R.E production company, known for such hits as Mary J. Blige's double platinum "What's the 411" L.P., Mariah Carey's "Butterfly" L.P, Destinys Child, Jessica Simpson, Marc Anthony & numerous J.Lo hits. At 17, Hasan wrote the entire album "FREE" by hip hop legend Prince Markie Dee (formally of the Fat Boys) which included Billboards number one Rap single "Typical Reasons (Swing My way)". Hasan went on to work with many super-stars of the music world, writing and producing as well as doing some of the hottest remixes ever. He landed a publishing deal with EMI Music Publishing at 18 years old. This led to him lending his talents to European phenomenon "Melissa." Also known as one of the most pursued ghostwriters, Hasan's resume is endless. His writing and producing became second nature but still he had more talent to unleash. His next move was the vocal booth. At 19 Hasan wrote and produced his solo album on Epic records entitled "Love Chyld". His vocal tone was compared to the late great Tupac, but his style was completely different. Hasan went on to perform on stages such as "Showtime at the Apollo", B.E.T's "Teen Summit", "The Wayans In Living Color" and "Soul Train." He also had one of the most requested videos on "The JukeBox Network." Because of creative differences, Hasan soon chose to leave Epic to pursue other ventures. To date he's moving at a rate many could only dream of. Hasan still works heavily with C.R.E, finding and molding new talent. He's also the C.E.O of his own independent record label "The L.C Experience". Hasan has truly taken rap music to a new level. He's done various musical projects for major companies such as Maxim magazine, Team Jordan, Smooth magazine and Juicy Couture. He will release his debut album next year entitled “A Man Like Me." He also continues to leak singles exclusively on Myspace (myspace.com/HasanIsRadio). The response has been incredible. Hasan has also worked heavily with many NBA players since 2006 where he does the annual All Star Weekend soundtrack. His first release was "Americas Point Guard: King Of The Cross Over." The mixtape featured exclusive material from some of today's hottest artists, such as Alicia Keys, R.Kelly, & Janet Jackson. It also featured Hasan's “Realm Squad”, a group of talented artist signed to his L.C imprint. In 2007 Hasan teamed up with 2 time NBA champion and TNT host Kenny "The Jet" Smith to bring you "The Vegas All Star Weekend Soundtrack" hosted by BET's Big Tigger. It featured artist such as J.Lo, Chris Brown, Nelly Furtado & many more. You can also catch Hasan every Tuesday & Thursday at 6pm on his internet radio show "Almost Famous Radio." Within the first year it has become one of the hottest shows on the internet. In the history of rap music, Hasan has done something never done before. He's teamed up with Academy Award nominee Danny Aiello (Do The Right Thing, The Godfather) to fuse Standards with Rap. The feedback has been enormous. The first release is "Besame' Mucho" which has received critical acclaim. Hasan has single handedly introduced the rap world to those who thought they would've never enjoyed it. Writer, Producer, C.E.O, Artist.... Hasan does it all, & believe me, he does it well.
