Michael Staron
Acknowledged in Jazz Times as, “A versatile, forwarding looking and accomplished performer” Michael began his professional career playing Latin Tropical music in Chicago’s inner city at age fifteen. He holds a M.M. in Jazz Pedagogy from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music in Composition from DePaul University. Michael has been a Lecturer at DePaul University since 2003 and an Instructor of Music at Triton College since 2000. Reviews in regards to the various facets of his bass playing have been published in Cadence, Pulse, Jazz USA, Jazz Review, Jazz Word, Jazz Weekly, AMG, New City, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, The Wire, All About Jazz, Jazz at a Glance, Chicago Reader, Screen, Where, Progression Magazine and live performances of Michael have been aired on BET, 190 North and local cable.

Bed tracks for "Questions" were recorded in 1992 at ARS studios. Guitar parts and vocals were later overdubed in 2001 at ARS studios. Liner Notes: Considered a drinking song,"I Wish I Never Had the Blues" was written in 1980. "The Janny Polka" was practically conceived in it's entirety as a improvised attempt to cheer up my wife during the summer of 1992.
