Nick Motil
Cult sensation, Nick Motil, has been slowly bubbling around the fringes of a scene that includes such names like Dave Matthews, David Gray and Everclear. Despite of the praise and the fan-base the passionate songwriter has collected already, he is about to break out in a big way with a college tour that, so far, includes over 40 dates throughout the Northeast and Midwest. “I’m just now figuring out how I want to present my music both on and off stage,” says Motil, “and I’m just getting started.”
With countless shows already under his belt, (over 50,000 miles of touring!), Motil is an experienced performer and storyteller. “It’s really, for me, all about lyrics and the story-telling,” says Motil. “I feel the best songs come from the best hearts.” From campus to campus, he’s carried a quietly hopeful message of love and life to thousands. In addition, via a residency at Margaritaville in his adopted hometown of Las Vegas, he’s entertained countless number of visitors. “I want to become more than your average boy with a guitar,” he says. Currently, Motil is the most-booked singer-songwriter on the college market. Distinctively, Motil plays all his shows barefoot. He started simply enough, with a self-released 7-song CD called “My Life” that reverberated from his Ohio home to Europe and beyond. Since, Motil has released three full-length albums, including the most recent “live from the black box.”
“Nick Motil creates songs you can relate to. His songs take you to a place you’ve never been, but feel like you’ve lived there all your life. His live performances capture you, draw you in, and make you sing along…even if you’re unsure of the words. The humor Motil displays on stage breaks the ice to an evening-long conversation in which the stage becomes a living room. Kick off your shoes and enjoy.”
