  • Snp (Stato Nervoso Precario) - Valthellina
Liner Notes: S.N.P. (acronym for the italian expression "Stato Nervoso Precario") formed back in 1990. After three long years spent on searching a personal style, the band released their selfproduced debut-EP in 1993; the record called "All Is An Endless Nothing... Empty Words, Empty Promises", really rooted into the classic '80s Thrash Metal in the vein of Metallica and Pantera, helps spreading widely the name of the band and it sells more than 1500 copies. One year later S.N.P. joins the compilation "Nightpieces III" (Dracma Records) with an unreleased song called "Confusion". The music becomes more aggressive and the endless storming live-shows make the band one of the more promising of the italian extreme Metal scene. In 1996 the full-length debut-album "Excess" is finally out on Last Scream Records: 10 songs full of powerful anger and melodic aggression that push S.N.P. really high in the favours of the italian Metal-kids. The four guys start their long "happy to hate" live-tour playing all over Italy and making a lot of new fans with their kick-ass adrenalinic live-shows. Under the big pressure of their fans for new material, the band releases in 1998 "For Fans Only", really nice home-video featuring 40+ minutes of the band captured live and private with the addition of 3 video-clips of songs contained in the "Excess" Cd. In 1999 it's the time for the new 3-songs single "Negazione", musically violent and aggressive as never before, a mix between Hard-core and Modern Metal. In 2000 S.N.P. have been chosen to join the Metallica Tribute-album "Phantom Lords" (released by Adrenaline Records) with the track "The Thing That Should Not Be". 2003-2004: a new record-deal have been signed with I-NU-MAN Records, the new subdivision of Adrenaline Records focused on the Nu Metal-Thrash sound. The brilliant result is the new album "Scarface": 14 songs of nu-thrash metal…. Energy, power, passion, aggression!

  • No More Fear - Ethnoprison
Liner Notes: No More Fear, death metal band from Abruzzo (Italy), born in 1996...in the beginning the four members are: Gianluca Orsini (Drums/Voclas), Davide Rosati (Bass), Panfilo Carracini (Guitar), Fulvio Cellini (Guitar). Unfortunately, the lack of a true singer limits remarkablly the compositions. On November 1997 Gianluca Peluso join the band as lead vocalist. Since that moment No More Fear begin to create new songs trying to mix the thrash sound of the beginnings with death metal elements introduced by the new member. On June 1998 new songs are born, wich will be recorded afterwards, for the first time in studio, giving life to "Shouts of War", the first demo-tape. Not long after the demo was out, No More Fear send out the guitarist Fulvio Cellini, owing to musical divergences. Massimo Peluso takes his place at the guitars. After a promo cd released in 1999, featuring two new songs, "The Strange thin in tunnel" and "Obituary", No More Fear finally give life to their first official album in 2000, called "Vision of Irrationality"; the album features 9 tracks, produced by "Video Radio"and distributed by "Fonola Dischi". Really, all this never happened ,so the band decides to rescind the contract with the label. On May 2000, cause of personal reasons, guitarist Panfilo Carracini leaves the band. After several audictions Alessandro Montoneri, long time friend of No More Fear, join the band at the guitar. Many live shows follow in clubs as Transilvania (Civitanova Marche), Kreis (Pescara), First Floor (Montesilvano), Bombardier (Roma), The Cube (Cagliari)...and so on with Lecce, Bari, Teramo, Avezzano (AQ) and others clubs all around Abruzzo. On April 2004 the band realizes a new work, a split cd with Sin Driven Tide, published by INDELIRIUM Records. The cd contains 4 new songs by NMF, wich denotes a musical evolution compared with the previous "Vision of Irrationality". On March 2006, at the ACME Studios in Raiano (AQ) and at THE OUTER STUDIOS in Rome, the new album’s recording began. But in the november of the same year, the bass player, Davide Rosati ,historical band former, quit for personal reason the band. He has been replaced by Armando Sborgia (Silentree) until the summer 2007, then definitively replaced by Fahd Lafrikh. On january 2008, No More Fear (with Alkemist Fanatix collaboration ) signed a contract with Lost Sound Records. Thanks to this agreement, on march 2008, their new cd “Ethnoprison” will be in stores. Live performances continue for the new album support. No More Fear are: Gianluca Peluso: vocals, Gianluca Orsini: drums, Massimo Peluso: guitar, Alessandro Montoneri: guitar, Fahd Lafrikh : bass. • Homerun - Don't Stop
Liner Notes: The band was put together for the first time in 2000, under the name of 'Dead poets'. During the first year the band focuses its attention on covering many known successes of hard rock groups, but, afterwards, the band memebers decide to try to write orignal songs. The name is changed in HOMERUN at this point, tributing the name of an album of the swiss hard rock band Gotthard, and because the name HOMERUN reflects perfectly the idea of speed, precision and attitude that we want to inspire our music. The first demo 'Some1' is released. After the studio sessions it was time to hit the road: the Homerun appear in many live shows in clubs between Milan and Varese. The setlist is composed both of original songs and covers. The original songs get a very good feedback from the audience, paying back the band of t he months of hard work. Things seemed to go wrong between 2004 and the first quarter of 2005, when Paul (bass), Dave (guitar) and Tony (Drums) decided to end their experince with the band to follow their own projects, but the strong synergy between the other members kept the Homerun alive, until the arrival of Walter on the keyboards, who gave the band a completely new sound. Today, the lineup is Walter (Hammond and keyboards), Matt (vocals), Andy (guitars), Giorgio (drums), Vale (bass) and Simo(guitars) These changes broaden the musical influence of the band and the 'Homerun sound' gets radically changed and enrichened. In 2004-2005 the lyrics of original compositions are both in english or italian, and a second demo, Start Again has been released in April 2005. Year 2006/2007 will see us back at the studio to work on more original material, t his time a 100% Hard Rock and 100% English-lyric autoproduction. The Album is out in the World by Sweet Poison Records and the title is “Don’t Stop”

  • Burning Black - Prisoners of Steel
Liner Notes: In a musical scene where contaminations and compromises chase the trends, BURNING BLACK have chosen their path without any hesitation. An eighties-style Heavy Metal as pure as possible, to demonstrate that it can still be possible to play good music following the steps of the big ones: not by imitating them, but looking at the future with the sound of the present. Heavy metal is our law...without waiting, without fear. The band has been formed in 2004 by Giovanni Moretto (guitar) and Massimo De Nardi (vocals), with the purpose of playing a classical and straight Heavy Metal. In 2005 and 2006 the band records 2 promo CDs (“Smell the Fire”, 2005 and “Fight to Dream”, 2006) that obtain only outstanding reviews from press and media all over Italy and Europe. After fixing the line-up, with Alessandro Jacobi (bass), Marco Maffeis (guitar) and Luca Scomparin (drums), the band begins major touring (with many important Italian and European bands, such as Primal Fear, UDO, White Skull, Fire Trails, Bonfire, Soul Doctor, Rain...without having an album out and no label support. Between July and August 2007, the band records its first full length album, entitled “Prisoners Of Steel”, at Remaster Studios in Vicenza (Italy), produced by Tony Fontò (White Skull) and Nick Savio (Hollow Haze), who is also a special guest in the album. This works represents a perfect picture of BURNING BLACK’s evolution since their birth in 2004 until now, with great care of sounds and arrangements, but always with their typical mark: total and faithful dedication to the rules of pure Heavy Metal, from 80s NWOBHM to the modern German scene, with American and European Hard Rock influences. BURNING BLACK never took their inspiration from one particular band, but have always tried to make a synthesis of the best of “Classic” Heavy Metal of the last 30 years. The result is a strong and powerful album, whose tunes are only connected by two themes: passion for music and life on the road!

  • Mutala - Cloning Wicked Minds
Liner Notes: Mutala's story have been started in May '99, when the two brothers Febe (bass) and Femto (drums) put together the original unit of the band. In the first months of activity Febe and Femto began to arrange the first songs, but it was in September of the same year that Mutala had been taken their definitive shape with the entry of Kohl (guitar) and Leon (vocal). With this line-up composed of four elements, Mutala have been continued their production, that will bring the band to take on sounds that are by themselves called "mediterranean death metal". This definition refers to the roots of band and to the strong link between them and their native country. In the last weeks of March 2000 Mutala came in study for their first mini-CD production, entitled “What Hates Will Kill", a title that implies the lyrics contents that are into the six songs which compose this work: the subjects vary in sphere of human feelings, like love, hate, glory... "What Hates Will Kill" had numerous good reviews from specialized journals and 'zines. Also thanks to good reviews for mini-CD of their beginning, Mutala have had possibility for carry on different gigs, including the "Core Of Hate Tour", in October 2000 with the blacksters OPERA IX and DISGUISE, and the gigs with the death-gods NATRON. After one year from previous experience into study, in march 2001 Mutala came in "Half Moon Studio" where, with Nicola Lonigro, produced their new CD entitled "Carnivorous Disposition", a 8 songs full-length that lasts little more than 43 minutes. The songs contained in the full-length signed a step forward from a technical, composition and arrangement points of view: swift feral parts, melodic and acoustic inserts blend together, searching for a sonorous trademark, typical sound of band for next compositions too. In September of the same year the band contracted a deal with the Italian label “Nocturnal Music” for print and dealing of their recording work, that was out at the beginning of February 2002. Then, gigs have been continued, and in December 2002 Mutala crossed Italian border for their first concert abroad, in Slovenia where they received a warm welcome, repaid by a strong and powerful gig. During 2002 and in the first months of 2003, Kohl played with NATRON (Holy Records), with a very strong experience not only from a personal point of view (he played around Europe) but also for a musical improvement that have been repercussions on Mutala's activity. Moreover, in september 2003, a session-guitarist joined the band: Stephan Olsen, from URSHURARK, who has been perfectly integrated into Mutala, strengthening the sound effect and enabling the band to play some parts which were possible to do only into the study. In july 2003 Mutala were engaged with the record of a 3 songs promo-CD. Mutàla played around Europe with “Death By Dawn” (D) during October 2003. In April 2004 the band interrupt its activity for line-up problems. 2007 is the year of the rebirth... Mutala returns in its original line-up: Leon, Kohl, Febe and Femto. Today Mutala is finished the project left dormant in 2004 titled "Cloning wicked minds", a 12 tracks full length CD, and is preparing for new devastating gigs! In December, 2008 Mutala firm a deal with italian label Sweet Sound Records for the release of new full lenght album and for the distribution all over the world. The story goes on!

  • Navarro - Branded On My Skin
Liner Notes: May, 1982 - Max Philip Navarro was born in 1982 in a middle class family of Vancouver Island in West Canada. Since he was a child he was very fond of American rock: Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Neil Young and Italian rockers Luciano Ligabue and Luigi Schiavone were his favourite ones. 1997 / 1999 - At liceo in Pordenone he became singer of some cover bands, and started writing his own songs since he was 16. In this period he wrote songs as Wish, Angel, Blame It On Love and Torquemada. 2000 / 2002 – He found a band called AX, but members were too heterogeneous as music preferences, so the band broke up in a couple of years. May – September, 2002 – Max threw his last concert with AX: on that stage he met Spike Moods’ guitar, Nick Mayer who listened to Max’s songs and believed in his talent. In September The Stone Flowers were founded: Max P. Navarro (vocals), Nick Mayer (guitars), Simon Johnson (bass), Andrè Morin (keyboards) and Gene Storm (drums). March, 2005 – The band changed his name to Navarro and realized an EP called “Parallel Lines” which included four songs: Torquemada, Get Away, Stardust (written by Nick), and especially Wish. As “Wish” became a little hit Navarro were esteemed as one of the most promising bands of american heartland rock by italo american music journalist Samuel Torresani. In Parallel Lines, Max described a generation who lost old values, and found new idols in money, conformism and hypocrisy, without any believing in true love and honor. November, 2005 – Morin and Storm left the band to try a cinema career; Max recruited guitarist Douglas Morrison and drummer Chris Evans but after some months they quit the band joining Kid Weird. Also Simon Johnson quit in December. July, 2006 – Guitarist John Paul Bellucci joined Navarro, followed by his friend and bassist Jack Novell and young drummer Simon Moore. March, 2007 – At Cage Studios Navarro cut their first full album “Branded On My Skin”, entirely written by Max, and produced by Nick Mayer and Max Navarro. With its nine new songs “Branded On My Skin” is more melodic than “Parallel Lines” but also marked by a stronger guitar sound. First single, Cold Night Love Affair, has been chosen as theme song of the international beauty pageant Lady Of Universe and won several music contests. April 2008 - Navarro signed by new rock label Lost Sounds Records. June 11th , 2008 – Navarro’s first album “Branded On My Skin” in stores! Future projects –Two parallel ones: they’re working on new songs for their second album, that probably will be realized next spring; then they are working on a new cut of their first ep “Parallel Lines”, that will be re-arranged and recorded again with this new line-up. This new version of “Parallel Lines” will be available before the end of 2008.

  • Astarte Syriaca - Darkened Light
Liner Notes: Astarte Syriaca are born in 2003 with the intention to propose an innovative and eclectic prog-metal sound. The band plays live in some of the most famous roman clubs (Cube, Alpheus) and takes part of some events organized by the municipality (Roma 70 Live). The sound of the band is characterized by a metal-progressive style and the drummer Gabriele Valerio (Theatres des Vampires) gives it his good contribution for the time when he collaborates with the band. In 2004 the recording of promo-cd "Astarte Syriaca" is committed to "16th Cellar Studios" in Rome. "Kick Promotion Agency", which represents some of the national underground most in sight bands, takes care of the promo diffusion by radios, music magazines and web magazines. They wrote about them: "Italy is proving to be a country more and more rich in musicians and composers. It's just the matter of the roman Astarte Syriaca" (www.heavymetal.it). "The roman combo introduces into its musical substratum some of the progressive influences connected to the 70's. Doing that, is born an album which, till from the first notes, reveals the excellent technique of its interpreters, the fine taste for the melody, the good care about arrangements (always simple and linear) and finally the goodness of ideas contained in this self-produced homonymous CD" (www.kronic.it). In 2005 Astarte Syriaca, togheter with "Moonlight Comedy" and "The Fifth Season", takes part of the most important progressive event in Rome: the "Killer Prog Night". Their first videoclip based on the single release "Winged Horses" is filmed by Riccardo Ponis and the band is later engaged for a gig in the famous club "Stazione Birra", chosen by numerous italian and international rock stars for their shows in Rome. During the reharsals for the gig the band begins to plan a new kind of show in which the music is fitted in a multi-artistic context made of theatre, painting, photography and grafic design. The idea is about to propose a kind of show that guide the audience into the music itself, by means of a real stage designing. Stazione Birra staff proves to be available and the club entrance is used as a painting exhibition of various artists, in the hall there are two projectors and the poetry recitation is commited to Barbara Alesse while Georgia Tribuiani, Senior Designer close to Fox International, deals with video fx and lights coordination. "Winged Horses" videoclip boasts numerous broadcastings on italian, international and satellite tv channels. In 2006 the multi-artistic show is repeated at "Stazione Birra" where Astarte Syriaca play also as support of a historical band of the 70's: "Metamorfosi". In the same year, the band takes part of the "Dream Wave Contest" winning the first regional place and the third national place. Third Place also for the "Woodstock in Sabina Festival", then the selection for "Sanremo Rock". Thanks to these competitions, which bring Astarte to play all over the national ground, Alkemist Fanatix Europe, notices this now no more up-and-coming band and decides to represent it as A&R, Promotion Manager and Booking Office. In 2007, Astarte Syriaca begin to record their first LP called "Darkened Light". Through a succession of live performances in which they decide to make an extract of "Jesus Christ Superstar", grows up the "Jesus Christ Superstar - Opera Prog" project where the desire to realize a show in which the musical component found its widening in a theatrical staging, reaches its ideal shape: the "concert-show". With this new genre, Astarte Syriaca debut and repeat at Stazione Birra and then they move to "Vigano' Theatre" in Rome. In 2008, Astarte Syriaca write the sound track of "Green" a film written and directed by Carlo Fineschi, with Alessio di Clemente and Marco Venienti. The adventure of Jesus Prog continue on the stages all over Italy. On 17th and 22nd of March Astarte Syriaca togheter with the director Barbara Alesse and the cast of Jesus Prog will be guests of the programme "Password" on Gold TV, lazio Channel and Roma Sat

  • Diana Winter - Escapizm
Liner Notes: Since early childhood Diana Winter has experienced different languages and cultures and developed an early love of music. Growing up in a very musical family –her mother is an accomplished classical pianist- as a child she listened to everything from Bach to Satchmo. She started early classical guitar studies at 10, focussing after some years on more modern guitar players such as De Moraes, Pernambuco, Brower, Brindle. A curiosity for anything concerning self expression soon turned towards songwriting: she gave up the idea of the conservatory and wrote her first song at fourteen. Her vocal training started in a Gospel Choir, soon her models became Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Sananda Maitreya, Sarah Vaughan and many others. The experience in Gospel contributed to Diana Winter’s belief that in music, as in any religion, evocative power is the strongest alchemy that can take place between people. She tried to express this intuition in her first album “Escapizm”. As a teenager ,while performing in various local clubs, she started making her own way in the music business. Those years didn’t seem to lead her anywhere, because she found it impossible to compromise with certain situations. She was discovered in 2004 by the arranger, guitarist and producer Fabio Balestrieri, and the result was her first album Escapizm. The album was produced by Fabio Balestrieri for Kouyatè and recorded over two years in Italy, Belgium and the UK. The reason being the collaboration with ex Level 42 Phil Gould, who co-produced two tracks of the album, and the will to create a project made for the international scene. The production was in line with the main idea of recording an album “made of notes”-which reflects Fabio Balestrieri and Diana’s wish for “real” music- played in every single part with real instruments. Many talented musicians were involved in this debut album, to mention just a few: harmonica player Toots Thielemans, percussion player Miles Bould, double bass player Pino Pecorelli, keyboard player and singer Mike Lindup, bass player Yolanda Charles and Mirco de Grandis, string player Neil Black, composer/songwriter Damiano Ruggeri. The mastering of the album took place care of Martin Giles, at Alchemy Soho in London (see www.alchemysoho.com). This is how Miss Winter describes her debut: “ in Escapizm, I wanted to tell stories about whatever I could imagine ” Since the release of the album Diana Winter has been invited to all the most popular italian radio shows, acclaimed by the critic and starting her live tour with a sold out at Blue Note in Milan. Miss Winter has received such a claim from the international scene, that the renowned California Radio Station KGRL has featured her as the “artist of the month” of February 2008, including an everlasting page on its website. She has also been asked to record the main song of the soundtrack of “Essayette”, an English production movie soon to be released. For years she has been performing live both in Italy and abroad to an enthusiastic audience. Recently Diana Winter has been featured on the two latest albums of Italy's most popular singer Giorgia. The first collaboration is called 'Vieni Fuori' on the album 'Stonata' (2007), the second 'La Gatta' on Giorgia's latest album 'Viaggi di Voce' (2008). Both songs are produced by Winter's producer, Fabio Balestrieri. Diana will be touring Italy in April and May 2009, for Giorgia has asked her to join her on stage during her 'Spirito Libero Tour 2009'. Lately Diana Winter has also been complimented by the legendary eight Grammy Award winner Chaka Khan.
