Surfusion is a Surf-Jazz Power Trio, straight outta Bells Beach. Surfusion put on a powerful stage show full of improvised moments of virtuosity- enhanting the audience with the power of their sound. Surfusion's songs relate to the travels and good times associated with following the waves from our beautiful SurfCoast to King Island, up north and around the beaches of Goa and southern India. Surfusion speak of the passion of knowing every nook and cranny of the coastline, the swell, the tides and the wind. Surfusion are, as the name suggests, literally a fusion of musical styles set around surfing. As a Surf-Jazz Power Trio, each member contributes their unique musical style to each performance, from the hyper-rhythmic drumming of Joe Ham to the latino-jazz six stringed bass of Del Reis to the enchanting vocals and heady guitar of Red C. Whyte. Each performance is different, tuning to the vibe of the audience in spontaneous improvisations of virtuosity. Surfusion have released two independent CD's: 'Water Mountain' in 2005 and 'Sea-Juiced' in 2006- available on iTunes. Band Members are Red C. Whyte- a Surf Coast legendary songwriter and artist, having produced 10 independent CD's as a solo artist and with Surfusion. Del Reis is a Brazilian-born jazz musician who arrived in Australia four years ago. Del is one of the few people in Australia to have mastered the art of playing the six-stringed bass guitar, an instrument which allows him to play bass, rhythm and lead at the same time. Joe Ham is Surfusion's drummer and percussionist, known for his hyper-rhythmic manic drumming style and customary instigation of stage trashing...when the occasion warrants it!
