Witty lyrics, 70's guitar riffs and dance infused beats make The Nervous Wreckords music catchy and addictive after just one listen.
In 2008 after 3 albums 4 EP's, and 5 years of extensive international touring with LOUIS XIV, Brian Karscig met Anthony Saffery producer and member of UK band Cornershop when having a drink in a hotel bar before a gig in Cambridge, MA. 'I've always been a fan of Cornershop, and have seen Anthony playing Sitar with Noel Gallagher on a Beatles tribute performance on the BBC, and loved 'Brimful of Asha' song and video!!!'. we started chatting and really hit it off. We kept in touch via email and phone, and would regularly send each other mixes from bands we were in the studio working with'.I really appreciated what Anthony was bringing to the production of these songs'Soon after I sent him some solo stuff I had been working on, and he loved it! We decided to start working on some tracks together by sending hard drives of files across the country, and working out of our own studios respectively. I really love the club/eastern/beat element Anthony does creatively and really wanted to try something different musically'. The Result: The Nervous Wreckords were born June 2009'. Soon after, 'The Nailbighter EP' (released Dec. 2009) was released and features 5 tracks in which Brian and Anthony finished together in Cambridge, MA at the famous Camp St. Studios (Radiohead, Pixies, Lemonheads, etc.). The band features Karscig as well as some friends from other bands he's worked with over the years, (Mark Maigaard~LXIV, Ray Suen and Mark Stoermer~Killers, Anthony Saffery~Cornershop, Steve Smith~Dirty Vegas) and the full length soon to follow features many more friends.
The live incarnation of the band now includes: B. Karscig, L. Matheson, C. Cate, and M. Gorney and they are looking forward to touring US/UK this coming year.
The Nervous Wreckords have been building buzz in 2010 with the anticipation of the release of their full-length debut, VALUMINIUM. The album features more of the lyrically clever songs, beats, and catchy guitar riffs that The Nervous Wreckords fans have grown to love.
'I want to make records that I want to listen to everyday. The album and the EP are a dying art, and I plan to do my part to keep making them in a way that a collection of songs identify us as artists rather than just a 'single'. I want to keep making music that challenges me to grow, and go new places artistically, but that is also still fun, relatable, and that everyone can dance to.***.' b. karscig.
