Debussy: The Snow Is Dancing - Single
- Electronic, Christian/Gospel
- Reinhold Behringer
- 05/19/2009

Liner Notes: Claude Debussy was born on 22.August 1862 and died on 25 March 1918. He is one of the most influential French composers.
The piece "The Snow is Dancing" is a part of the Piano Suite "Children's Corner", devoted to Debussy's beloved daughter Chouchou. The music depicts a winter scene, with snow flakes twirling around during snowfall.
This particular recording has been generated on a computer, programmed by Reinhold Behringer. The sound is from an actual piano, therefore it has no synthesizer acoustics. The different melodic themes have been recorded individually, hereby allowing a a unique spatialisation which would not be possible in a traditional recording.

Strauss R.: "Arie Des Tenor" 000712 - Single
- Opera, Electronic
- George Everett, Reinhold Behringer
- 05/29/2009

Liner Notes: The tenor George Everett has performed this short solo aria in collaboration with Reinhold Behringer (Virtual Philharmonic Orchestra) in summer 2000. The singer performed his solo in a studio, without any orchestra but with a barebone piano accompaniment to which he listened through headphones (so as only to record the voice itself). George had created the piano excerpt himself on a PC, and this method allowed him to have full control over the pace of this aria.
Reinhold Behringer then embedded this voice recording in an orchestral arrangement, which he created around George's recording and the separate piano excerpt, following the tempo and expressions which the singer had intended. This production method is in contrast to traditional opera recordings where the orchestra conductor is pacing the performance: in our approach the singer has the absolute freedom of expression.
The technical difficulty in this approach is to create a musically pleasing orchestral rendition which complements the initial voice recording. This requires careful crafting of each instrumental score part. The orchestral instruments in this recording are synthesizers (Yamaha MU-80, soundfonts) controlled by a PC, trying to emulate a natural orchestral sound, but allowing a full control of orchestral nuances, in counterplay with the voice.

Smetana: Vltava / Moldau 991116 - Single
- Electronic, Christian/Gospel
- Reinhold Behringer
- 06/01/2009

Liner Notes: The river Vltava (internationally known as "Moldau") has inspired composer Bedřich Smetana to write the symphonic poem which he named after the river - it is part of the 6-part cycle "Ma Vlast - My Fatherland".
This recording has been created with computer technology: based on digitisation of the original orchestra score, a set of synthesizers is used to re-create an authentic orchestral sound. The first version of this recording was distributed as MIDI file. It was one of the first orchestral renditions created by Reinhold Behringer in 1995.
This particular recording is from 16.November 1999 and contains a different set of sound samples than the original version from 1995.

Tristan and Siegfried Meet Isolde 991121 - Single
- Electronic, Christian/Gospel
- Reinhold Behringer
- 06/01/2009

Liner Notes: This is the very first composition by Reinhold Behringer which was publicly released. It was inspired in 1999 by a challenge on David Solomons' web site: to write a MIDI composition around Richard Wagner's famous Tristan chord.
This composition begins with the original Wagner score, but then "wanders off", modulating through the scales and ending up with themes from the "Siegfried Idyll".
The present recording was created on 21.November 1999, using computer-controlled synthesizers.
