We’re cruisin’ through June and we have lots of news to report from the TuneCore Music Publishing Administration office. Get the latest on who joined our community of songwriters, and find out which compositions were recently featured in film and TV…
Chicago bred and New York trained, TuneCore Music Publishing songwriter Jesse Boykins III embodies all the trappings of a global superstar in the making. After participating in the highly respected Red Bull Music Academy, Boykins went to work on what became the full length April 22 release Love Apparatus with collaborator/producer Machinedrum (Azelia Banks, Theophilus London). The lyric/dance video to the first single, “Plain,” reminiscent of Maxwell and D’Angelo, debuted on ebony.com and is reviewed by Esquire as “a rocket shot of a single that’s dashed with a bit of R&B, a little soul, splattered with electro flourishes.”
Recognized for leading the 90’s Swing Revival movement, a long-running residency at LA’s The Derby (of Swingers fame) and a featured onscreen performance in The Mask, TuneCore Publishing Administration is proud to announce the addition of primary Royal Crown Revue songwriter Eddie Nichols to our catalog. Nichols’ TuneCore administered compositions have been heard live in support of The Pretenders and B-52’s as well as several film and TV appearances, more recently in Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
Although he’s known in most circles as the touring drummer for Nine Inch Nails, Angels & Airwaves and Paramore, TuneCore Music Publishing client Ilan Rubin shines as a multi-instrumentalist and anthemic rock songwriter for his solo project The New Regime. Released as the first in a series of E.P.’s, Exhibit A is a stellar eight song collection, reminiscent of Dave Grohl’s post-Nirvana ascension to becoming a world class front man.
