This Saturday, November 12th, TuneCore is excited to be a part of The Independent Music Awards Ceremony at the Lincoln Center in New York City. Celebrating it’s own 15-year anniversary, the Independent Music Awards has been promoting and recognizing the hard work that independent artists put into their careers and holding events to offer new ways of supporting them.
This event will celebrate and congratulate the 2016 Winners from 1pm-10pm with live performances, special guests, panels and town hall discussions. TuneCore has been invited to partake in one of these town hall discussions, which will feature TuneCore Artists The Alternate Routes, Conrad Clifton and Jonah Smith, starting at 2pm and moderated by Senior Director of Artist Relations Chris Mooney.
The event is free for fans and artists, all you have to do is RSVP.
Each year, thousands of independent artists, songwriters and producers submit their work to be considered by a panel of experienced judges in categories ranging from the year’s best in albums and EPs to publicity photos and release packaging – and it all goes down LIVE at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center.
Learn a little more about the artists we’ll share the stage with below:
The Alternate Routes
A duo comprised of Tim Warren and Eric Donnelly, The Alternate Routes garnered attention after their song “Nothing More” (written for the nonprofit Newtown Kindness) was featured on the hit show NCIS as well as the Sochi Winter Olympics’ opening ceremony. They currently tour nationally and abroad, weaving in and out of country, rock and pop.
A Brooklyn-based producer, Conrad Clifton has spent his career working with Grammy-nominated producers and world famous artists. Lately he has made an impact with his own solo work, combining a distinct blend of house, electronica, soul and R&B into his work. Clifton released two EPs in 2015, Do U and If I Were Me.
Jonah Smith is an LA-based singer/songwriter who has racked up critical acclaim from the likes of The New York Times, NPR, The Wall Street Journal and other high profile publications. He was a semi-finalist on the hit series America’s Got Talent in 2014, and his music has been licensed on ABC, NBC, FX and the USA Network, and he released his latest album Easy Prey earlier this year.
Check out this year’s rad flyer below, and if you’re in the NYC-area, feel more than free to come by and take your mind off it all! It’ll be a great setting to network with other artists and music industry folks, and we’d love to see you out.
